And just like our football team the sun also nurtures and helps grow - but it can be fierce, relentless and uncompromising - what other AFL teams will learn to respect about the Gold Coast SUNS.
In the end - there was no other choice, we are the Gold Coast Football Club - We are the Gold Coast SUNS!
Two years does not seem like a long time to build tradition but in the short history of the Gold Coast Football Club that is exactly what happened when it came to choosing the strip for the home game jumper. Red is the predominate colour of the club and will continue to be the colour of our home game jumper.
The design of the away and clash jumper owes its history to the place where we come from – the Gold Coast – but it adds momentum and a sense of something building. At home the club will be very much part of the Gold Coast, but when we go on the road, we want to take a piece of the Gold Coast with us into every game. We will be called the Gold Coast SUNS and the away and clash jumper will have another iconic Gold Coast feature - the building surf or wave. Red for away and white for clash.
