Details
Jumper # 29
DOB 24/01/1992
Height 184cm
Weight 75kg
Beginnings Rupertswood FC

Competitive and a good one-on-one defender, Hine had a strong NEAFL season and managed one senior game against West Coast in round 11.

Hine is working on his ball use and efficiency to round out his game having looked above reserves level for much of last season.

A product of Rupertswood Football Club - Geelong’s James Kelly and Matthew Egan also played there – Hine’s junior football was hallmarked for his uncompromising attack on the ball in the midfield and the quality of his shut down work in the back line.

He represented Vic Metro’s U16’s squad and came runner up in the best and fairest count for the Calder Cannons in 2008 as a bottom aged player. He was credited as an integral part of the Cannons 2009 TAC Cup premiership success.

Hine’s 2010 VFL form was solid enough, but a clear best-on-ground performance against Frankston in Round 10 announced his arrival as one to watch.

Draft history: 2010 17-year-old access selection (Gold Coast).
