Gold Coast SUNS AFLW Head Coach Cameron Joyce has made three changes to his side to face St Kilda in Mackay this Saturday.
As confirmed on Thursday, proud Wiradjuri woman Gabrielle Biedenweg-Webster will fittingly make her debut as the AFLW community celebrates Indigenous Round.
She will be one of two Indigenous players to run out for the SUNS at Great Barrier Reef Arena on Saturday with Kalinda Howarth set to return after missing last week’s QClash with an ankle complaint.
Off-season recruit and powerful runner Tahlia Meyer has also earned a return for the first time since Round 1.
Making way is first-year player Jasmyn Smith and fellow Gold Coast locals Shannon Danckert and Annise Bradfield. The latter pair have been named as emergencies alongside Krystal Scott.
The SUNS will be eyeing its first win at the venue on the third attempt – a place that holds special memories for captain Tara Bohanna who made her debut at the ground earlier in 2022.
Hometown girl Lauren Bella will be hoping to continue her fine start to the season, named in the Ruck while fellow local Wallis Randell has been named on the interchange.
