With Brandon Matera ruled out of Saturday’s clash with a groin strain following the GC SUNS’ 40-point win over Geelong, coach Guy McKenna is expected to make just the one forced change to the side that takes on Hawthorn at Aurora Stadium.

In a press conference yesterday, McKenna said the SUNS’ match committee was still undecided when it came to which player would be added to the 22.

“Do we bring in Tom Murphy or Matty Warnock that frees up a defender that can go into our midfield?

“Certainly names like Murphy, Warnock. Jeremy Taylor unfortunately, he’d been playing reasonably well but again just a few little issues with his body.

Jesse Lonergan had been in good form. Seany Lemmens, probably from a first-year point of view, has started the year really well as you’d expect and then sort of had that dip like most first year players do after a certain amount of football.”

The GC SUNS reserves had the week off last week due to NEAFL representative football, so whoever comes into the team will be fresh for the challenge of taking on the Hawks. Who that will be is anyone’s guess.

“So yeah 4 or 5 of those you can throw a dart at one of those and you might be close,” McKenna said.
