SUNS Academy graduate Sienna McMullen is officially a SUNS AFLW player after being selected with Pick 51 at Monday night’s AFLW Draft.
McMullen, who has starred for the SUNS and National Academies as well as Queensland in recent seasons is the latest Gold Coast junior to join her hometown club.
The 18-year-old midfielder was a consistent performer for Queensland at the National Championships and excelled for the Australian Under 18 team, having 18 disposals and six tackles against the Under 23 All Stars earlier this year.
With agility, endurance and outside game all part of her weaponry, McMullen will provide plenty of options for Senior Coach Cameron Joyce.
“Sienna is another young SUNS Academy talent whose development we have been impressed by,” GC SUNS Head of Women’s Football Fiona Sessarago said.
“Her versatility and ability to play a number of roles is something we are really excited about.
It’s always a special day when a Gold Coast junior becomes a Gold Coast SUN.”
