SUNS get early jump
Gold Coast SUNS coach Guy McKenna says he believes the team can benefit from getting a head start on the competition.
The GC SUNS were the first team to return from their end of season break, meaning the team has been able to fit in more training sessions than its rivals.
"Our scouts say a lot of the other clubs have been a bit cautious, possibly gentle even, leading into Christmas," McKenna said.
"Gary Ablett's going to talk the group at some stage and over that break it might be a mental break if you like but it's not going to be a physical one.
"If we are one or two weeks ahead of some of the other teams, let's stay ahead of them."
McKenna think his players now well and truly understand what it takes to compete at the highest level and says they can’t wait get their teeth into the clubs third season.
"The boys understand the job's on and they're certainly relishing the challenge."
