The Gold Coast SUNS have signed Tori Groves-Little as the club’s second AFLW expansion signing.
Groves-Little becomes the fifth player to join the SUNS list ahead of its inaugural AFLW season in 2020.
Following the announcements of Jamie Stanton and the club’s three inaugural signings in February, the Gold Coast SUNS Academy product is proud to be returning to the Coast.
The Queenslander was a member of the Gold Coast SUNS Academy program before being drafted to the Brisbane Lions with pick 56 in the 2019 AFLW Draft and played two games for the Lions in her debut season.
The midfielder has represented the SUNS previously as a member of the 2018 Winter Series team, before going on to be awarded the 2018 QAFLW Best and Fairest in her first full season at senior level, playing for Coorparoo.
The opportunity to represent the club she had strong ties to growing up, was one Groves-Little said she couldn’t resist.
“I’m really excited to be coming home. The opportunity to play in front of my friends and family on the Gold Coast, the place I grew up, is very exciting,” Groves-Little told SUNS TV.
“The team is coming together ahead of 2020 and honestly I can’t wait to get into it.
“To be able to come through the SUNS Academy program was amazing, and hopefully now I can inspire the next generation of SUNS AFLW players.”
Tori Groves-Little joins Jamie Stanton, Kitara Whap-Farrar, Charlotte Hammans and Ellie Hampson as members of the SUNS’ inaugural AFLW list for 2020.
