Gold Coast have upgraded local product Jacob Dawson from the club’s Rookie List as a replacement for Pearce Hanley.

The 18-year-old joined the SUNS as a category B rookie last year and is now eligible for selection in the senior side.

Dawson has been one of Gold Coast’s most consistent midfield performers at NEAFL level, having been named in the best on a number of occasions.

Hanley was placed on the Long Term Injury list in early May, having suffered a dislocated shoulder.

He is currently undergoing a rehabilitation program and is expected to return in 6-8 weeks.
