GC SUNS Media Statement
The Gold Coast SUNS can confirm, player Jacob Gillbee was charged with drink driving after being pulled over for a routine breath test early on Sunday morning.
Gillbee returned a blood alcohol concentration of .137.
GC SUNS General Manager, Football Operations Marcus Ashcroft said Gillbee who notified the club immediately and cooperated fully with Gold Coast Police, was extremely remorseful.
"We have spoken with Jacob this morning and he is very embarrassed by the situation he finds himself in, and well aware he has let himself and the club down by making this unacceptable individual choice."
At this time the club is not in a position to make any further comment.
