Gold Coast SUNS captain Marc Lock and backman Michael Gugliotta were at Mudgeeraba State School to help celebrate and promote Book Week yesterday.

Book Week, which runs in schools and libraries across the nation this week, celebrates books, reading and Australian authors and illustrators. Teachers and school and public librarians develop activities, offer competitions and tell stories relating to a theme to highlight the importance of reading.

Lock and Gugliotta addressed school assembly to support the initiative and encourage students to read as often as they can.

Book Week is the longest running children's festival in Australia. This year it celebrates its 65th birthday.
