GC SUNS Football Manager and Queensland Football Hall of Famer Marcus Ashcroft is now officially a ‘Legend’ of Queensland football.

The announcement was made at the annual Grogan Medal and AFLQ Presentation Evening at the ‘Gabba last week.

Ashcroft, the first Queenslander to play 300 AFL games during a glittering career with the Brisbane Bears and Brisbane Lions, became the eighth Queensland Hall of Fame ‘Legend’.

He joins his long-time Lions captain Michael Voss and former coach Leigh Matthews, Hawthorn champion Jason Dunstall, record-breaking umpire Tom McArthur, Queensland Team of the Century fullback Dick Verdon, founding administrator Arthur Collinson and 50-year football servant Harry O’Callaghan on the ‘Legends’ list.
