Months after his controversial incident with Brisbane Lions captain Tom Rockliff, Gold Coast SUNS key defender Steven May has been involved in another massive collision.

Although this time, May has taken out a goal umpire instead of an opponent.

With May and Greater Western Sydney forward Jeremy Cameron running back towards goal, the pair cleared the line, with May then cleaning up a brave goal umpire who elected to keep his line to adjudicate rather than vacating for safety.

Unlike previous circumstances, the recipient of the bump bounced back up to his feet, and swiftly executed his role to perfection, before readjusting his cap and getting on with the job at hand.

One key omission from Monday’s Match Review Panel findings was May’s name, with the key defender being let off the hook for a second hit of 2015.
