As the Gold Coast Football Club moves closer to its first year in the AFL, one of its main commitments as a club, will be establishing and maintaining a strong community connection. The Gold Coast Football club is committed to making a difference in the Community both now and well into the future.

Working with the AFL and AFL Queensland, the GCFC currently invests more than $1 million annually into the community through various programs, which see over 20,000 active participants take part in AFL within the Gold Coast region at Auskick, School competitions, Junior and Senior Club games.

Our promise is to ensure we will have meaningful engagement with the community. We are currently working closely in conjunction with the Gold Coast City Council and local service providers, to roll out activity and awareness in support of our three key social responsibility areas, which are:

• Youth Homelessness
• Respect and Responsibility (Domestic Violence)
• Northern Corridors project

On top of this, the GCFC has already been active in the Community over the past 6 months with various activities and projects that include:

• Partnering with CEO Challenge to raise awareness of domestic violence and for the club to participate in the first ever Wake up and Walk event held on the Gold Coast in November, 2009.
• Providing brand new clubs and schools on the Gold Coast with Goal posts
• Supporting local junior clubs with GCFC players at all clubs on sign-on days in February.
• Engaging with the Northern Rivers Community through the AFL’s Telstra Community Camp where 10,000 participants met players over the 2 days
• GCFC raised over $2500 for the AFL Northern Rivers Junior League and clubs at the Community Camp Dinner
• Donation of seats from Carrara stadium for local Junior and Senior clubs to use permanently, throughout the Gold Coast
