The Gold Coast SUNS can provide a Qscan Injury Update heading into Round 10’s Sir Doug Nicholls clash against Hawthorn on Thursday night at TIO Stadium.
Midfielder Will Graham has sustained a shoulder injury after a brave moment late in the final quarter against the Western Bulldogs on Saturday night.
Last week’s substitute Jake Rogers has also succumbed to an ankle injury and will miss this week’s game.
GC SUNS Head Physiotherapist, Lindsay Bull said both players had returned to the Gold Coast and would be consulting specialists in the coming days to determine the best course of action.
“Will injured his shoulder in a contest late in the game against the Bulldogs and he will be seeing a specialist on the Gold Coast this week to determine whether surgery is indicated.” Bull said.
“Likewise, Jake has also returned home and we will get a clearer picture on the next steps for his recovery after advice from a specialist this week.”
In positive news, StreetSmarts SUNS Academy graduate Leo Lombard has returned to full training over the last fortnight and is expected to return to play this weekend.
