Five SUNS have been recognised for their performance in the Round 4 victory over Carlton with AFL Coaches Association votes.

SUNS coach Stuart Dew and Blues coach Michael Voss were split over who was the best player on the ground in their eyes, with Jarrod Witts and Noah Anderson both sharing nine votes.

Witts had it all his way in the ruck battle, amassing 42 hitouts, 16 disposals and six clearances.

Anderson was equally influential in the middle of the ground, recording an equal career-high 35 disposals to go with a game-high 10 clearances.

Touk Miller was judged next best with five votes, followed by Lachie Weller (four) and Sam Collins (two).

Miller’s performance sees him currently sitting in fifth place on the overall leaderboard.

Carlton’s Adam Saad finished with a single vote and was the only Blue to poll from the match.

The AFL Coaches Association’s AFL Champion Player Award is an award voted by the 18 coaching panels on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each home and away game, acknowledging outstanding effort by an individual player in a season.
