Gold Coast SUNS will monitor a number of players as they look to prepare for Sunday’s QClash against the Brisbane Lions.
Mabior Chol was the sole injury concern from the weekend’s match against St Kilda with groin soreness.
“Mabior had some soreness during the third quarter of the game and it inhibited his performance to the extent that he couldn’t continue,” GC SUNS Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull told the Qscan Injury Update.
“We will work with him throughout the week and assess if he’ll be available for selection for Sunday’s fixture.”
Jack Lukosius will also endeavour to make himself available for Round 6 after missing last week rehabilitating a PCL injury sustained in the SUNS’ win against Carlton.
“Jack progressed in his rehabilitation last week, was able to run today and we’ll keep building him up throughout the week and assess his progress before determining his availability ,” Bull said.
A bye weekend in the VFL will allow a grace period for returning athletes to find form and press for selection, including Charlie Constable (concussion) and Jack Bowes (shoulder), who are both listed as a test.
“We take all concussion incidents seriously and Charlie has ticked off each step in the recovery process to date and we’ll continue to work with him through the remainder of these ,“ Bull said.
“Jack has been really diligent in his rehab throughout the past couple of months and will be available for selection this week.”
David Swallow dislocated his finger during the SUNS match against St Kilda on Saturday, however, will be available to train fully this week.
