Gold Coast SUNS AFLW players Maddison and Teagan Levi will be unavailable for the upcoming NAB AFLW Premiership Season due to commitments with Rugby Australia.
Both Levi sisters were moved to the inactive list in October 2021 after being offered full-time contracts with Rugby Australia.
With the change of season timings, Maddison and Teagan will both remain on the inactive list for Season Seven of the NAB AFLW Season.
SUNS Head of Women’s Football Fiona Sessarago said the club remained fully supportive of the young sisters and their sporting endeavours.
“While we would love to have Maddi and Teagan back in the red and gold this season, we’re fully understanding of their desire to represent Australia in upcoming competitions later this year,” Sessarago said.
“We remain in constant communication with both Maddi and Teagan and hope to see them return to the SUNS in the future.
“In the meantime, we look forward to cheering them on when they represent Australia.”
Maddison played eight AFLW matches for the SUNS in the 2021 season and finished in the top 10 in the 2021 SUNS AFLW Club Champion.
She represented Australia in Rugby Sevens in the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and was last month named the 2022 HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series Rookie of the Year.
Teagan became a rising star through the SUNS Academy pathway and was drafted to the SUNS with pick 6 in the 2021 NAB AFLW Draft.
The Levi sisters are joined by Jade Pregelj (ACL) on the inactive list for the upcoming NAB AFLW Premiership Season.
The SUNS currently have four list positions available ahead of the AFLW Draft on June 27.
