Rex Liddy was invited back to his original school of three years St Peters College in Brisbane’s West. Liddy addressed members of the schools AFL team that are currently playing in the AFL Qld Independent AFL private schools competition.
He spoke about his journey from Hopevale to St Peters and then to the Gold Coast SUNS. The visits were also part of the players development, learning how to speak in front of peers is great experience.
Karmichael Hunt visited Churchie which is where he went to school in Grade 11 and 12. Hunt Spoke to the students from Churchie that are currently playing in the AFL Qld Independent AFL private schools competition.
He spoke about his journey to the Broncos at a young age, discipline at training and being a Churchie boy. He also spoke about not being interested in AFL in Grade 11 but having an interest in “Giving AFL a go” in Grade 12 and having a great time.
Hunt wished players all the best for the season and answered a lot of questions. Coincidentally one of the players in the group of 30 or 40 odd was none other than Darryl White Jr (son of Darryl White from the Brisbane Lions).
