A career-best 15 clearances contributed to an elite performance from Touk Miller on Sunday against West Coast Eagles, and it’s one that got both coaches attention.
The Gold Coast SUNS Captain was one of six players to be recognised in the AFLCA Coaches Votes this weekend, alongside three of his teammates.
Adding eight votes to his new tally of 88, Miller catapulted himself to the top of the leaderboard – in front of Melbourne’s Clayton Oliver (86) - with just three games remaining.
Mabior Chol’s five goal effort won plaudits from the coaches’ box, rewarded with six votes for the match.
Meanwhile Noah Anderson (three votes) and Izak Rankine (two votes) were also given the nod.
Anderson, who is arguably in career best form, finished with a handy 29 touches, nine score involvements, six clearances and a goal.
Goal sneak Rankine was the catalyst of a strong SUNS momentum swing early in the match, and was rewarded with three showstopping goals.
West Coast Eagles’ Jack Darling (nine votes) and Tom Barrass (two votes) also figured into the voting in the Round 20 match.
