The Gold Coast SUNS have confirmed its squad for Saturday’s official AFLW pre-season practice match against Geelong at the Austworld Centre Oval.

Head Coach Cameron Joyce has named a 26-player squad to take on the Cats in what will be the SUNS’ final hitout before the season-opening fixture against North Melbourne in Tasmania on Saturday, August 27.

New club captain Tara Bohanna will lead the team for the first time following her appointment earlier this week, with the squad also featuring a raft of off-season recruits in Courtney Jones, Gabrielle Biedenweg-Webster, Georgia Clayden, Krystal Scott, Claire Ransom, Tahlia Meyer and Ashlee Atkins.

The full list will also be presented to the SUNS crowd at half-time of Saturday’s AFL fixture at Metricon Stadium.
