James Tsitas has added another honour to a storied career after being named in the Smithy’s VFL State Team for Saturday’s match against the SANFL in the 2025 AAMI State Game.

Tsitas will journey to South Australia for Saturday’s clash between the two representative teams which will follow the SUNS’ historic clash against North Melbourne at the nearby Barossa Park.

The SUNS VFL captain follows in the steps of SUNS recruit Ben Jepson who represented the side in 2024 in what was the VFL’s first representative clash since 2017.

It’s the latest accolade in Tsitas’ career that has included state league football in Victoria, South Australia and the Northern Territory alongside five AFL matches for the SUNS.
