With only days to go until the Gold Coast SUNS kick start its AFLW Season Seven campaign, it’s time to take a look at the coaches who’ll be pulling the strings behind the scenes.
The SUNS will once again be led by AFLW Head Coach Cameron Joyce.
Joyce is is preparing for his second season on the Gold Coast and along with a host of familiar faces, the SUNS have made two superb additions to its coaching panel during pre-season.
The SUNS AFLW program has welcomed Development Coaches Lateesha Jeffrey – sister of SUNS AFL player Joel Jeffrey– and Kathryn Chatelier, who will share a wealth of knowledge gained throughout a number of years in the club’s AFL program.
“Lateesha and Kathryn are fantastic additions to our coaching panel for Season Seven. They both bring a diverse and unique set of skills along with plenty of experience that will help our AFLW program continue to take big steps forward,” GC SUNS Head of Women’s Football Fiona Sessarago said.
Former GC SUNS AFL player and SUNS Academy Coach – Female Sam Iles once again will take a focus on the midfield as an Assistant Coach.
He’ll be once again joined by Kieran Daley who enter his third AFLW season as Assistant Coach – Forwards and former SUNS Academy assistant coach Jarrod Wells, who holds the position of Assistant Coach – Defenders for a second consecutive season.
Matt Bedford enters his fourth season with the squad as Development Coach/Runner, with Brooks Mustey once again the squad’s Development Coach for Season Seven.
“We were really happy with the quality of coaches involved in our program last season and it’s great to have those coaches continuing to bring their unique set of skills to the program again for Season Seven,” Sessarago continued.
