Ned Moyle and Chris Burgess have both been named in a 40-player squad in contention for the 2022 Smithy’s VFL Team of the Year.
Burgess was this year’s Frosty Miller Medallist for leading goalkicker after booting 52 goals in his 17 VFL matches this season.
The key forward averaged six marks (two contested) and 11 disposals per game.
Ruckman Ned Moyle led the league in hitouts this season with 719 – almost 200 clear of his next rival.
The 20-year-old averaged 40 hitouts, 14 disposals, six clearances three marks and three tackles per game to be one of the most dominant ruckman in the competition.
The final Smithy’s VFL Team of the Year will be named on Monday September 12, as part of the 2022 VFL and VFLW Awards.
