The Gold Coast SUNS have secured a trade with Fremantle key forward Josh Corbett.
The SUNS will receive Fremantle’s future fourth-round draft selection in exchange for Corbett.
The 26-year-old has played 36 games for the club since joining the SUNS as a mature-age special assistance player in 2018.
GC SUNS General Manager of Player Talent and Strategy Craig Cameron wished Corbett well in the next phase of his career.
“Josh has been a valued player for us over the last four years and we’d like to thank him for his contribution to our club,” Cameron said.
“He wasn’t able to break into the team at AFL level consistently last season and was looking for greater opportunity, so we were happy to facilitate a trade that worked in the best interests of both parties.
“By acquiring Fremantle’s future fourth-round pick, it will also allow us to accumulate valuable draft collateral for next year’s draft.”
Corbett has kicked 33 goals in his career, including four from his four AFL matches in 2022.
The Gold Coast SUNS have so far traded for Ben Long and Tom Berry, with the Continental Tyres Trade Period running until Wednesday October 12.
