SUNS mid/forward Jack Martin believes his team is giving themselves every chance to win games this year.
Jack Martin was a standout for the SUNS in the tense five-point win over the Western Bulldogs in Melbourne, finding plenty of the football and kicking the first goal of the match.
The 24-year-old said he was pleased with the club’s start to the season, even though it has provided some nervous moments.
“Obviously we’ve been in a few nail-biters now,” Martin told SUNS Media.
“It would be nice to win one pretty comfortably, but I guess the takeaway from that is we’re putting ourselves in those positions and giving ourselves a chance.”

The Bulldogs were highly fancied going into the match after starting their season 2-0.
But the SUNS were up for the challenge and led from start to finish despite a Bulldogs fightback in the final quarter.
“We went down there expecting to win because we want to win every game,” Martin said.
“The belief in the group at the moment is massive and we believe we can compete against most sides.
“It’s only round three and we’ve got a long road ahead and a lot of work to do.
Martin has started the season in scintillating fashion, averaging over 20 disposals and a goal per game.
But he says he’s not getting ahead of himself and despite the cliché, is taking it one week at a time.
“I’m having fun, I’m enjoying myself getting around the boys and it’s been good,” he said.
“It’s always nice when you win as well but it’s a long season so I’ve just got to keep looking after myself and turning up every week.”
The SUNS are now preparing for their second home game of the season, taking on Carlton at Metricon Stadium this Sunday.
