For the first time in 2023, it’s time to select your Austworld Player of the Round.
Jarrod Witts was influential in the air and on the ground in Saturday night’s defeat against the Swans, dominating the ruck contest with 51 hitouts to go with 25 disposals and a team-high 10 clearances.
Only midfielder Matt Rowell had more contested possessions than Witts. The 21-year-old was ruthless at the contest throughout the night, finishing with 21 contested possessions alongside eight tackles.
Touk Miller also had plenty of influence with and without the ball in hand, leading the SUNS with 29 touches whilst also recording an equal team-high eight tackles.
Nick Holman opened 2023 with typically relentless pressure whilst also hitting the scoreboard with a goal in the third quarter.
In his first outing in SUNS colours, Ben Long provided plenty of run and drive off half-back while debutant Bodhi Uwland threw himself at every contest, finishing with 20 touches.
