The SUNS on Thursday hosted the annual Beach Open Training event for members and fans across the Gold Coast.
Held at Palm Beach’s Pirate Park, it was the perfect morning out for families, with a smorgasbord of activities on offer including the SUNS kicking challenge, SeaFM handball challenge, Lipton Chill Zone and cricket in the park with SUNS players and coaches.
SUNS coach Stuart Dew was the designated wicketkeeper for the day, making some sharp catches and offering plenty of advice to the batsmen, while GM - Football Operations Jon Haines filled in at leg slip.
Jacob Dawson was sensationally bowled out by Nick Holman who rates himself as a premium fast bowler.
Plenty of kids took part in the session; batting, bowling and catching out some of their SUNS heroes.
The playing group spent the morning rotating through three stations which included the cricket, some light drills and paddle boarding races.
Fans were excited to mingle with the players after the session for conversations, photos and autographs.
