The Gold Coast SUNS Board, Staff and Players today paid tribute to Jim Stynes OAM, who passed away in Melbourne this morning.
Gold Coast SUNS Chairman John Witheriff expressed deep sympathies to the Stynes family.
“On behalf of everyone involved with the Gold Coast SUNS, we extend our deepest sympathies to Jim’s wife Sam, children Matisse and Tiernan, his family and those fortunate to have worked with him at the Melbourne Football Club.”
Witheriff echoed the sentiments of many, admiring his remarkable sporting journey, on-going commitment to the community, his love of his family and the way in which he fought his brave battle with cancer.
“Jim Stynes was a remarkable person; he had a huge impact on so many people in many walks of life,” Mr. Witheriff said.
“A family man at heart, Jim’s ability to give up and divide his time between Reach, his many other community activities and the Melbourne Football Club was incredible.”
