GC SUNS Charity Open Day
To celebrate the Club’s work with it’s ten nominated charities, the Gold Coast SUNS invited almost fifty representatives from their community partners to the third annual Charity Open Day at Metricon Stadium this week.
The breakfast, held in the Chairman’s Club at Metricon Stadium provided the Gold Coast SUNS Community team with an opportunity to discuss the Club’s many successful community programs.
Gold Coast SUNS player Michael Rischitelli, Jared Brennan, Charlie Dixon, Daniel Gorringe and Tom Lynch who work as Community Ambassadors across a number of programs were in attendance and shared some of their most recent Community experiences.
The players then presented each Council member, Rotarian and charity worker with a signed 2013 GC SUNS Guernsey in recognition of their partnership with the Club with Community Programs Manager Corey Bell telling goldcoastfc.com.au the positive feedback and engagement from the various guests in attendance further highlighted the club’s on-going success in working with the wider Gold Coast community.
“The players and the staff of the Gold Coast SUNS always look forward to this particular event,” said Bell.
“The work we see our ten nominated charities do all year round, is quite amazing.
“The Charity Open Day is a way for our Club to update them on what is new for 2013 and at the same time to say thank you to all our charities for the hard work they do."
GC SUNS General Manager of Marketing, Membership and Community – Kelly Ryan, welcomed the event into it’s third consecutive year.
“Our Annual Charity Open Day is not only an opportunity for us to update our key stakeholders on what the Club is doing, but it allows everyone to come together and share their own challenges and opportunities and identify ways we can all assist the community better,” Kelly said.
“Also having the opportunity to hear first hand the positive work our charities do is nothing short of inspirational.”
