A total of seven players will play their first AFLW game for the Gold Coast SUNS in Saturday’s Round 1 clash against Carlton at Ikon Park.

As confirmed earlier, SUNS Academy duo Alana Gee and Darcie Davies, alongside Bond University recruit Meara Girvan and Irishwoman Niamh McLaughlin have been named their AFLW debuts this weekend.

A trio of off-season additions in inaugural GC SUNS Winter Series captain and Carrara Saints junior Jordan Membrey, Maddy Brancatisano and Clara Fitzpatrick will also play their first AFLW match in SUNS colours.

Jamie Stanton has also been named to return to action after missing the majority of Season Seven with an ACL injury.

The team in total contains seven SUNS Academy graduates.

First bounce at Ikon Park is at 1.05pm on Saturday afternoon. Catch all the action live on Fox Footy and Kayo from 1pm.
