Key forward Brodie McLaughlin has been presented with the 2023 Jarrod Harbrow Community Award, for his outstanding work with Radio Lollipop and the children at the Gold Coast University Hospital.
Since joining the club, McLaughlin has had a strong passion for community work and whilst his ability on the field is recognised it is important to acknowledge his generous efforts in the community.
McLaughlin has been involved with Radio Lollipop this season where he has been able to build relationships with sick children and effectively ensure that in a really difficult time they are still able to experience some positive moments.
The dedication of McLaughlin to consistently attend the hospital every week, regardless of the demands of being a professional athlete, is truly exceptional.
His leadership by example has motivated others to give back to the community and make a difference to people in need is inspiring.
McLaughlin receives the award named after club legend Jarrod Harbrow who won the award on five occasions in his time at the Gold Coast SUNS.
