Only Charlie Rowbottom had more contested possessions (12) than Whitfort while Alison Drennan also earned plenty of the ball.
In defence, Viv Saad stood tall with a game-high 14 intercept possessions, Meara Girvan was at her intercepting best and Daisy D’Arcy provided her characteristic run and composure off half-back.
Jac Dupuy was the SUNS’ only multiple goalkicker, highlighted by a terrific snap in the third quarter.
