Gold Coast SUNS draftee Sienna McMullen has been placed on the club’s inactive list for the 2024 AFLW season as she continues to recover from an ACL injury.
The versatile winger, who was taken with Pick 51 in December’s AFLW Draft, suffered the injury late in 2023.
Head of Women’s Football Fiona Sessarago says the 18-year-old’s recovery is of paramount importance.
“As a young player who is just beginning her AFLW journey, the focus is on Sienna’s recovery and all her new teammates and club staff will continue to provide all the support she needs,” Sessarago said.
“She has earned the opportunity to represent her hometown club after rising through the ranks of the Academy and we’re looking forward to seeing her return to the field before too long.”
McMullen was one of two SUNS Academy products selected by the club in last year’s draft alongside fellow Burleigh Bombers junior Kiara Bischa.
