Elise Barwick has taken out her first GC SUNS AFLW 2km time trial at Griffith University on Thursday morning.

The 25-year-old, who made her AFLW debut for the SUNS in 2023, led from the start and was closely followed by inaugural time trial winner Lucy Single and 2023 draftee Sienna McMullen.

Fellow off-season draftee Keely Fullerton and 2023 All-Australian Charlie Rowbottom rounded out the top five.

Alongside nine new faces running their first time trial, six returning players recorded personal best times.

Cameron Joyce’s side returned for pre-season preparations this week ahead of the August 31 season opener against St Kilda at People First Stadium.
