After an exhilarating win after the siren against the Bombers on Saturday, Bodhi Uwland and Sam Clohesy say the team are looking to continue to build on their momentum in the final two rounds of the season.

For Clohesy, it was his first time experiencing a goal after the siren at AFL level and is something he said he wouldn’t forget anytime soon.

“It’s unbelievable, it still hasn’t sunk in really,” Clohesy said.

“A goal after the siren - you never really expect it happen but to be involved that’s really special.”

Uwland said he had full faith in Mac Andrew kicking true to seal a memorable win for the cub.

“It’s great to get a one-point win like that, it’s something you dream of playing in - a goal after the siren win,” Uwland said.

“It was amazing.”

For Uwland,  playing at home this weekend in Member Thank You Round will be a fitting way to acknowledge the support of the members and fans this season.

“It’s going to be special and we’re encouraging all fans to come down and watch us at home for the last time in 2024.’ Uwland said.

“It’s amazing running out here and hearing the cheers of the crowd, and seeing the young kids and fans in the stands.

“It’s what we play for really, and to be able to perform at home in front of our fans is important so hopefully we can continue that this weekend against the Dees.”

With two games remaining in the 2024 season, Uwland said the opportunity to record the best season in SUNS history was a driving factor for the group.

“Something to look forward to is having a winning season,” Uwland said.

“(We have) two games left to play a full four-quarter performance and finish the season with a positive record.”
