The Gold Coast SUNS have set a new membership record for the fifth consecutive year, registering 26,157 members in 2024.
Gold Coasters are supporting their club like never before, with this year’s number marking a 12% increase on the 2023 total of 23,359, and 91% growth since 2019.
Gold Coast SUNS Chief Executive Mark Evans said it was a significant achievement to breach 26,000 members for the first time in club history.
“We continue to break new ground here on the Gold Coast, celebrating record membership and incredible growth over the last five years,” Evans said.
“Queensland is on track to be the third-highest state in the country for participation in the next 10 years and this is driven by impressive growth on the Gold Coast at grassroots level.
“That momentum is translating to more interest in our sport, more members and fans at our games, and a level of support we’ve never experienced before.
“To all our members on the Gold Coast, throughout Queensland and right across Australia, we thank you for your support and look forward to continuing our charge in 2025.”
In addition to record-breaking membership numbers, the SUNS have also enjoyed strong ticketing and commercial sales, with four sellout crowds at People First Stadium in 2024.
AFLW memberships for the 2024 season are available from $50 for a supporter, or $70 for full access. Click here for more information.
