Out of contract at Adelaide, Elliot Himmelberg has signed a three-year deal to join the SUNS until at least the end of 2027.
The 26-year-old is a 198cm key position player with 50 games of AFL experience to his name.
Gold Coast SUNS General Manager of Player Talent and Strategy Craig Cameron said the club was pleased to acquire Himmelberg’s services.
“Elliott has the talent and experience to help us on the field in the coming years,” Cameron said.
“Our strategy for this trade period is to be targeted with the players we bring in, and Elliott’s versatility will complement our existing mix of key position players.”
Himmelberg was originally drafted by the Crows with pick 51 in the 2016 National Draft from the Redland Bombers, south-east of Brisbane.
He was a member of the Brisbane Lions Academy for one year after his family relocated from Wagga Wagga, but was ineligible to be drafted as an Academy product after just one season.
Himmelberg played nine AFL matches for Adelaide in 2024 and kicked eight goals.
The 2024 Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period opens on Monday October 7, running until Wednesday October 16.
