The Gold Coast SUNS have today completed a three-club trade with Collingwood and Port Adelaide.
The trade sees the SUNS acquire John Noble from Collingwood, while Jack Lukosius and Rory Atkins will depart the club to join Port Adelaide.
In summary, the SUNS will receive John Noble, pick 39 and two future first-round selections (tied to Collingwood and Port Adelaide) in exchange for Lukosius, Atkins, and picks 13, 29 and 50 in the 2024 Telstra AFL Draft.
Gold Coast SUNS General Manager of Player Talent & Strategy Craig Cameron said the three-club trade served the best interests of all parties.
“One of our priorities this trade period has been to bolster our rebound defence and John is someone we have identified who can help us, while also adding some valuable experience,” Cameron said.
“Acquiring future draft collateral as part of this trade allows us to set our club up as we continue to plan for the years ahead.
“After discussions with Jack and Rory, we have agreed facilitating a trade was in the best interests of all involved, and we appreciate their contribution to our football club.”
Noble has played 112 AFL matches in his time with Collingwood, including 20 games in 2024.
The 27-year-old was recruited by Collingwood with pick 14 in the 2019 Mid-Season Rookie Daft and has featured in seven finals appearances throughout his career.
Lukosius was drafted by the SUNS with pick two in the 2018 national draft, and the 24-year-old departs after 116 games in six seasons with the club.
Atkins joined the SUNS at the end of 2020 from Adelaide, and played 37 games in four seasons at the club.
