The AFL has today confirmed the 2025 AFL Premiership Season fixture with the Gold Coast SUNS once again beginning its campaign in Opening Round at People First Stadium.

As confirmed earlier this week, the SUNS kick-start its 2025 campaign on Saturday, March 8 at home against Essendon.

The Opening Round clash against the Bombers is followed by home matches at People First Stadium against the Adelaide Crows in Round 4 (Saturday, April 5) and 2024 Grand Finalists Sydney in Round 7 (Sunday, April 27).

The SUNS will host a pair of matches at TIO Stadium in Darwin, taking on the Western Bulldogs in Round 9 before facing 2024 semi-finalists Hawthorn in a prime-time Thursday night clash in Round 10 to open Sir Doug Nicholls Round.

Gold Coast will host six home matches in the second half of the season at People First Stadium against Fremantle (Round 12), Melbourne (Round 16), Collingwood (Round 18), Brisbane (Round 20), Richmond (Round 21) and GWS (Round 23).

2025 will mark the first time the SUNS have hosted the Dockers at People First Stadium since 2022, and the Giants at the venue since 2020.

The Round 20 QClash will be the second of the season with the SUNS taking on the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba in Round 8.

Gold Coast SUNS Chief Executive Mark Evans says there’s plenty to be excited about for SUNS fans across Australia in 2025.

“It’s fantastic for SUNS members and fans to now be able to pencil in a really exciting fixture into their 2025 calendars,” Evans said.

“After four sell-outs in 2024, we’re anticipating even more demand for tickets at our home matches and it’s great to have a raft of blockbusters at People First Stadium throughout the season.

“It’s also exciting for our interstate fans with our fixture spreading us right across the country as we embark on a bold new era for the Gold Coast SUNS.

“I encourage all our members and fans to get behind us at the start of this new era, grab your memberships and look forward to a really exciting 2025.”

As in previous years, the AFL will confirm the dates and times of Rounds 16 to 24 later in the season to allow for optimal filtering.

Gold Coast has the bye in Rounds 2 and 14.
