About the Telstra AFLW Draft
This year’s draft enters a new era as, for the first time, the AFLW hosts a truly national draft in which all players are eligible to be selected by any club.

The 2024 Telstra AFLW Draft order is based on reverse finishing order positions from the previous season as well as any compensation draft picks allocated by the AFL. Each Club must make at least two selections in the 2024 Telstra AFLW Draft.

How does the Draft bidding process work for Northern Academies?
Several Streetsmarts SUNS Academy players have nominated for the draft, with the process of matching bids on those players being different to the Telstra AFL Draft.

Matching a bid by a Club means using a selection in the AFLW Draft which falls within one round of the bid. For example, where a bid falls with the sixth selection of the first round, the matching Club must use their next selection by the sixth selection of the second round.
