The Gold Coast SUNS dominated the Northern Bullants in their first win of the VFL season on the back of the AFL’s one point cruncher over the Adelaide Crows at People First Stadium.
The SUNS fired out of the centre in the first five minutes, shooting two goals from four shots in quick fashion.
Brayden Fiorini was prolific across the forward half, amassing 18 disposals in the first quarter alone before totalling 43.
The ball revelled in the SUNS forward line with the Gold Coast registering 40 to 12 inside 50s at the end of the first half.
When the play was in the Bullants nest, the SUNS defensive mix including Lloyd Johnston (29 disposals), Sean Lemmens (21), Caleb Graham (19) and Jy Farrar (17) were all swift in sending it straight back down the line.
The SUNS slotted six straight in the second quarter with VFL debutant Oscar Wood scoring his first and veteran Alex Sexton scoring his third.
The second half played out no different, with the SUNS continuing their offensive momentum and keeping the Bullants goalless until the last 20 minutes. A multitude of scorers proving testament to their versatility.
In his first VFL game of the year, Nick Holman amassed 24 disposals, 14 contested possessions, eight tackles and two goals.
The 125-point demolition is the second highest victory in SUNS VFL history.
