The SUNS have recorded their second win of the VFL season at People First Stadium, defeating the Sydney Swans 14.9 (93) to 6.10 (46).

The Swans put up a fight, but it was the SUNS who rose to the occasion highlighted by a dominant third quarter.

Brayden Fiorini extended his prolific form for a fourth consecutive game amassing five goals, 30 disposals and seven tackles.

Returning from a pre-season PCL injury, David Swallow finally donned the fearless guernsey in his first game of the 2025 campaign. The club veteran tallied 24 disposals and 10 contested possessions.

The ANZAC spirit shone through in the second half with the SUNS showcasing their mateship and endurance.

Malcolm Rosas Jnr assisted both Sam Clohesy and Fiorini to score in the opening minutes before weaving through a flock of Swans to slot his very own.

Jy Farrar was noteworthy in defence keeping the Swans at bay with 21 disposals, four intercept possessions and three inside 50s.

Ned Moyle capped off the third quarter with a goal and kicked off the fourth with another finishing with a total of two goals, nine contested possessions and 19 disposals. Alex Sexton was also among the scorers as one of three multiple goalkickers for the SUNS.

The SUNS were able to widen the margin to a game-high 49 points before securing a 47-point win for the red and gold.

Gold Coast will take on the Brisbane Lions next Sunday, May 4 at Brighton Homes Arena. The VFL QClash begins at 12:05pm.
