The Streetsmarts SUNS Academy have shared the spoils with the Dandenong Stingrays across Saturday’s Coates Talent League fixtures at the Austworld Centre.
A two-goal-to-none final term saw the Academy fall short in the Girls contest before the Boys led from start to finish in a dominant 61-point win.
Sunny Lappin was one of four single goalkickers for the SUNS in the Girls contest, also named in the best alongside Lilly-Ann Ryder, Heidi Grimster, Alicia Gordon and Rhianna Ingram in the 5.5 (35) to 4.5 (29) defeat.
Max Hudson led the way on the scoreboard for the Boys with a game-high five majors in a win highlighted by an eight-goal second quarter that set up a 45-point advantage at the main break. Maddox Iverach was the SUNS’ only other multiple goalkicker with eight players kicking one a piece.
Jai Murray and Matthew Hoy were among that group and were named in the SUNS’ best alongside Hudson, Zai Millane, Caleb Nancarrow and Koby Coulson.
The two sides now head to Melbourne to face Eastern Ranges on Sunday.
