Teenager Wil Powell could possibly miss the remainder of the AFL season after injuring his knee in the game against Richmond on Saturday.
Gold Coast’s Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull told the Alpha Sport Injury Update a timeline would be determined after consulting with specialists.
“Wil injured his lateral meniscus in a tackle in the game early on the weekend,” Bull said.
“So he’s going to consult with a knee specialist in the coming days and we’ll have a plan of action moving forwards after that.”
In the NEAFL, midfielder Aaron Young came off late in the match, also with a knee injury.
“Aaron had a player come across him and injured his medial co-lateral ligament and also had a little bit of damage to his posterior co-lateral ligament as well,” Bull said.
“So he’s going to need to consult a knee specialist as well and we’ll know more after that consultation.”
Jack Martin will also be sidelined for a period of time which will be determined after a consultation with a hand specialist.
“Jack’s dislocated his finger and has unfortunately needed surgery to repair quite a significant injury,” Bull said
“So he’s just had surgery today and after a couple more consultations post-surgery we’ll have a bit more of a timeframe on Jack.”
