The Gold Coast SUNS have revealed their preliminary squad of 30 players to take on the Western Bulldogs at Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay for JLT1.
There will be up to eight players taking to the field for their first official game in the red and gold.
Jordan Murdoch and Sam Collins have been named in the starting backline while George Horlin-Smith will start on the wing.
First-year recruits Izak Rankine and Jack Lukosius will also get a chance to push their case for a round one debut, named in the starting forward line.
An extended interchange bench of 12 has been named, with Anthony Miles, Chris Burgess and Ben King all a chance to line up in the side.
The interchange will be trimmed to eight on Friday evening for the final team announcement, with clubs able to play up to 26 players in JLT1.
Defender Jesse Joyce has recovered well from a knee injury to take his place in the side while Pearce Hanley and Jack Hombsch have been rested and will be available for selection for JLT2.
