What it means for Gold Coast: The SUNS need to regain credibility. A win would be incredible – and snap an 11-game losing streak – but at a minimum they need to show some spirit for themselves and their fans after last week's loss to Richmond.
What it means for Adelaide: A chance to regain some form and confidence. Although they can't take Gold Coast lightly – remember the SUNS beat Sydney at the same point of 2018 – this is a chance to solidify a spot in a tight top-eight race.
The stat: There's one team Gold Coast is yet to defeat in its AFL history – Adelaide. The Crows are a perfect 12-for-12 against the SUNS, with eight of those victories by a margin in excess of 50 points.
The match-up: Jarrod Harbrow v Eddie Betts. While the SUNS might try another player (Jesse Joyce) to man Betts, Harbrow would love a chance to atone for the round five contest where Betts bagged six majors.
It’s a big week for: Jack Hombsch. The former Port defender has been forced to play on bigger opponents most of the year following a ruptured ACL to Rory Thompson and season-ending hip injury to Sam Collins. He'll again likely be fighting out of his weight division against either Taylor Walker or Josh Jenkins.
Big call: Gold Coast fights like crazy and provides a thrilling final quarter contest.
