The Gold Coast SUNS have achieved a club record 5,863 hours of community work from staff and players in 2018, a 10% increase on last year's number.
Those 5,863 hours consist of time spent raising awareness for youth homelessness, domestic violence prevention, Indigenous and Multicultural programs, as well as community visits to schools, junior clubs and Auskick centres.
This year the SUNS once again took their community programs to North Queensland, hosting AFL Community Camp in Townsville, Mackay and Rockhampton as well as visiting clubs in Cairns.
In total, the SUNS managed 472 community appearances (up 30% from 2017), 246 school and Auskick visits (up 67%) and made 29 local appearances to all 12 AFL Gold Coast Juniors clubs.
