Darcy Macpherson is set for an extended stint on the sidelines after scans confirmed the 20-year-old has a fracture in his lower leg after the QClash win over Brisbane on Sunday.
The small forward was immediately taken from the ground after attempting a tackle on Lions midfielder Jarrod Berry who fell awkwardly on Macpherson’s right leg during the second quarter.

In the earlier NEAFL match against Brisbane, defender Kade Kolodjashnij came off at half-time after encountering another setback.
“Kade experienced some concussion symptoms so he’s going to go through the normal concussion protocols this week and we’ll obviously have to assess him and see how he goes through that,” Haines said.
“It’s unfortunate for Kade but he’s obviously in really good hands with the medicos so we’ll just take their advice on that one.”

In more positive news for the club, key forward Peter Wright is expected to line up for the NEAFL for their Round 5 match against the Canberra demons, after nearing a return from his calf injury.
“It has been a lingering calf injury but Pete’s showing some really good signs,” Haines said.
“All things being equal with the work that he puts in this week, he’ll be right to play next week in the NEAFL which will be a really exciting time for him.”
Will Brodie (quad) and Josh Schoenfeld (hamstring) missed the NEAFL clash on the weekend but will be tested this week with Haines positive the pair will be fit to return to the field.

“He was terrific, it was a real credit to the rehab guys and the work they’ve done with him,” Haines said.
“He presented really well and looked really fit and strong and played about 70% last week.
“He’ll look to play a full game this week and that will be a really good step in his recovery as well.”
