After picking up the Marcus Ashcroft Medal on Sunday night at the Gabba, midfielder Touk Miller continues to earn the plaudits having polled a perfect 10 votes from the coaches.
Both Stuart Dew and his Lions counterpart Chris Fagan awarded Miller maximum votes after a match-winning performance that saw him curtail the influence of Dayne Zorko while also picking up 21 disposals himself.
The 22-year-old had a game-high seven clearances, as well as four inside 50s, to round out an influential performance.
Brayden Fiorini was also among the best for the SUNS, kicking two goals and gathering 27 disposals to earn seven votes from the coaches. He was an important link for Gold Coast in moving the ball forward, leading the team for metres gained with 559m.
Defender Jarrod Harbrow (five votes) had 25 disposals at 84% efficiency, and his bone-rattling tackle on Brisbane’s Ryan Bastinac set the tone for the SUNS early in the game.
Rounding out the votes for Gold Coast was Lachie Weller (one) after his 23-disposal game, while Harris Andrews (five) and Jarrod Berry (2) polled for the Lions.
Miller’s perfect 10 was one of six for the round, with Fremantle captain Nat Fyfe, Carlton’s Patrick Cripps, St Kilda midfielder Seb Ross and North Melbourne ball winner Ben Cunnington also joining him.
Fyfe’s votes move him to the top of the 2018 Shadforth Financial Group AFLCA Champion Player of the Year, ahead of Hawthorn midfielder Tom Mitchell and Collingwood’s Steele Sidebottom, who is yet to play in round five.
