The AFL Players’ Association unveiled the 2017 22Under22 squad on Tuesday, with two Gold Coast players named in the 40-man group.
Forwards Peter Wright and Jack Martin have been recognised for their performances across the 2017 home and away season.
Wright has been named as a dual-position player, with fans able to select him either in the forward line or as a ruckman.
The 203cm key forward is now into his third season of AFL football and currently sits second on the SUNS' goalkicking leaderboard after playing every game this year.
Despite spending a majority of his time as a forward, Martin has been asked to play a number of different roles for the team, including on the ball and in the back line.
The utility has played every game for the SUNS this season and has recorded career-best figures for both disposals and marks.
To be eligible for selection, players must be aged 22 years and under for the entirety of the season, including the finals series.
Now in its fifth year, 22Under22 is the industry’s only recognised fan-voted award and provides the footy public with the power to select the final 22.
Fans can now visit 22under22.com.au to cast their vote, before the final team is revealed at the AFL Players’ MVP Awards on Tuesday 12 September.
Voting closes on Wednesday 6 September, 2017.
